Solution
Energy level diagram of an electron:
The atom of each element is characterized by its unique electronic configuration, in the configuration, electrons are present in the electron shell known as energy levels.
The increasing order of arrangement of energies in the orbital is known as the energy level diagram.
Properties of energy level diagram:
It helps in filling the electrons in the subshell of an atom as the energies of the subshell of a particular shell are not the same. e.g. There is a difference in energy of 2s and 2p subshell.
When electrons are present at the energy level it is easy to predict the transition of an electron to a higher or lower energy level based on the absorption or release of energy.
Based on the electrons present in the energy level the chemical properties of an element can be predicted.
