Solution

Metalloids

  1. Metals and non-metals are separated in the periodic table by a zigzag line are Semi-metals, also known as metalloids.
  2. These are elements that have characteristics of both metals and non-metals.
  3. Semi-metals are comprised of seven elements in our modern periodic table. They have a metallic lustre, are brittle, and only partially conduct electricity that is they are semi-conductive.

Hence, Silicon (Si), Germanium (Ge), and Arsenic (As) are three of the semi-metals. The name assigned to those is metalloids or semimetals.
