Give three observations in daily life in which the evaporation produces cooling.
Evaporation is a process in which liquid molecules absorb energy from their surroundings, overcome the force of attraction, and convert it into a vapor state.
(1). Cotton Clothes produce a cooling effect during summer.
Cotton is an absorber and it absorbs sweat from the body. As sweat comes in contact with the atmosphere it evaporates and a cooling effect is produced.
(2). Cooling of water in earthen pots during summer.
In an earthen pot, water gets evaporated through the pores by which a cooling effect is produced.
(3). A cooling sensation is produced when alcohol is poured on the palm.
Alcohol evaporates quickly so a cooling effect is produced.
