Reasons for the rapid rise in human population :

a. Industrial revolution:

  1. Seventeenth-century witnessed a period of rapid growth in the human population because of the scientific and industrial revolution.
  2. This made life more comfortable.
  3. The increase in the human population caused a shortage of food and other essential facilities.

b. Scientific revolution:

  1. With advancements made in the knowledge of science and medical sciences, vaccinations, and immunizations against many diseases were undertaken.
  2. Consequently death rate came down.
  3. More children in the family began to reach reproductive age.


c. Agricultural revolution:

  1. The agricultural revolution considerably increased food production.
  2. There was sufficient food to feed people.
  3. Thus, nutritional deficiencies and starvation deaths decreased.
