  • Raichur Doab - Reasons why they wanted to control this region
  • Godavari basin - Importance of this basin
  • Konkan Coast - Importance of this coast
Solution:
Some of the reasons for the conflict between the Vijayanagar and Bahmani Kingdom were:
  • To control the Raichur Doab: This was a region between the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers. Both these kingdoms wanted to control this area for its wealth and economic resources.
  • To access the Godavari basin: This basin had a few ports through which foreign trade could be carried out. It would be beneficial for the kingdom who accessed it.
  • To control the Konkan coast: The fertile Konkan coast had a port in Goa through which good quality horses from Iran and Iraq would be imported. This was another area which was beneficial for the kingdoms to carry out foreign trade.
