  2. Both mitochondria and plastids have their genetic material in the form of DNA.
  3. They have their 70S type ribosome.

Plastid
1. Mitochondria are the site of cellular respiration.
1. Plastid is the site of photosynthesis.
2. Mitochondria are present in both plant and animal cells.
2. Plastid is unique for only plant cells and animal cells do not possess this organelle.
3. Mitochondria do not possess any pigment and help produce ATP.
3. Plastid possess pigments that can produce glucose as an end product.
