Here are the differences between zygote and foetus.
Zygote
Foetus
When a male gamete fuses with a female gamete cell the first cell formed is called zygote.
Developing offspring of a vertebrate animal inside a womb is called fetus
Zygote is the first stage in the development process of an organism
8th week after fertilization the embryo is considered a fetus
The zygote provides all the genetic information indispensable for the growth of the new organism.
Gender can be detected at this stage
Zygote is the stage that is succeeded by an embryo
By about 24 weeks all the organs are formed in case of fetus and it has chances to survive outside uterus.
