(i) Monoatomic Molecules: Molecules containing only one atom per molecule are known as monatomic molecules. Examples Na, Mg.

(ii) Diatomic molecules: Molecules containing two atoms per molecule are known as diatomic molecules. Examples O2, N2.

(iii) Triatomic molecules: Molecules containing three atoms per molecule are known as triatomic molecules. Examples O3, H2O.

(iv) Tetratomic molecules: Molecules containing four atoms per molecule are known as tetratomic molecules. Examples SO3, NH3.
