Solution

Definition of good and poor heat conductors.

  1. Materials that allow heat to easily pass through them are known as good heat conductors. Copper and aluminium have the highest heat conductivity, while steel and bronze have the lowest.
  2. Conduction is the transfer of heat energy between particles of matter that are in touch. Low heat conductivity materials are referred to as insulators. Heat cannot be transferred through poor conductors.

Examples of good and poor heat conductors.

  • Good conductors – Iron and Copper.
  • Bad conductors – Lead and Mercury.
