Deliquescent substances absorb water and lose their crystalline shape when exposed to the atmosphere. Because they are water soluble, they eventually dissolve by absorbing water.

The two examples of Deliquescent substances are
(i) Caustic soda (NaOH)
(ii) calcium chloride (CaCl2)
