Give two examples in which friction is of advantage to us. Explain the advantage clearly.

The frictional force is the force that has the tendency to oppose the motion of the body.

Friction is harmful as well as advantageous. Some cases where the friction is advantageous are

1. We can not walk without friction - For walking, we press the ground and the reaction force of that press helps us to move so if there will not be friction then we can not press the ground properly and so we can not walk properly.
2. We can not write without friction - For writing friction between the pen and paper is necessary. if there is no friction then the pen slips and we can not write properly.
