Solution

Elements that exist under normal conditions are:

  1. Solid - Iron (Fe) and copper (Cu) exist as solid as they have close packing of atoms having the least inter-particle space.
  2. Liquid - Bromine (Br) and mercury (Hg) exist as liquid as they moderate inter-particle spaces and loose packing of atoms.
  3. Gas - Fluorine (F) and oxygen (O) exist as gases as they have a random arrangement of atoms having the highest inter-particle space.
