Tap root system:

1. In tap roots, a single root comes out from the seed after germination.
2. The single root is known as main root or primary root.
3. Many branches come out of primary roots called lateral roots and spread out in the soil.
4. Example: Neem, carrot, rose. etc

Fibrous system:

1. They do not have the main root.
2. They have a cluster of fine roots which come out from the base of the stem.
3. They do not grow deep as the taproots.
4. Examples: Grasses, cereals, bamboo, etc.
