Physical changes are those changes that do not alter the chemical composition of a substance. Physical changes can be reversible or irreversible in nature. Reversible physical changes are those changes in which the original substances can be recovered back. Examples of reversible physical changes include:

  1. Melting of ice. When ice melts, it turns into water. Water can be frozen back to obtain ice again.
  2. Dissolving of sugar in water. The dissolved sugar can be obtained back by evaporation.
