Give two examples to show that living things respond to stimuli. One example should be from animals and the other from plants.

Response to stimuli:

  1. Living things react to the external or internal stimuli (changes around the surroundings) to which they respond.
  2. Stimuli: The changes occurring in the surrounding and inside an organism to which living things respond are known as stimuli.
  3. Response: The reaction to a particular stimulus is known as the response.

Response to stimuli in animals:

  1. When a person is bitten by a mosquito, the individual raises their hand to kill the mosquito.
  2. The bite is the stimulus that generates a response of killing in order to avoid pain.

Response to stimuli in plants;

  1. When a plant is kept a little away from a window through which sunlight enters the plant doesn't grow upright anymore but bends a little towards the direction where sunlight is falling through the window.
