In most cases, microbes cause infection in the regions that they come into contact.
However, in certain cases where crucial organs are infected, the microbes utilize an entry route that has no connection with the organ infected.
Two of them are as follows:
Tuberculosis: The bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is air-borne. It enters through the nasal route. However, the target organ is the lungs where the bacteria ultimately impacts.
Malaria: The protozoa, Plasmodium sp., is injected into the bloodstream via the bite of the female Anopheles mosquito. The organ that it ultimately affected is the liver.
