• Take a sample of the colourless liquid and place it on the burner; if it begins to boil exactly at 100^oC, it is pure water.
• The boiling point of any other colorless liquid, such as vinegar, is always different. Also, keep in mind that the entire liquid will evaporate after some time, leaving no behind.
• We can test it by examining the reactivity of particular metals that react vigorously.
