It is used in the manufacturing of water and producer gas.

(c) Uses of wood charcoal:

Wood charcoal is used as a fuel.
It is an important constituent of gunpowder.

(d) Uses of sugar charcoal:

Sugar charcoal is mostly used as a reducing agent.
It is used to decolourise coloured solutions.

(e) Bone charcoal:

It is extensively used to decolourise cane-sugar in the process of manufacturing sugar.
It is also used in the manufacture of a large number of phosphorous compounds.

(f) Uses of lampblack:

It is used in making black shoe polish.
It is used in the manufacture of tyres and gunpowder.
