Given, AB of length 3.9cm. Construct, PQ such that the length of PQ is twice that of AB. Verify by measurement.

Step 1: Draw a line AB of length 3.9cm.

Step 2: Construct a line PQ.

Construct a line l.and mark a point P on that line at one end.

Now, adjust the compass to the length of AB and draw an arc on the line l from the point P towards another end and mark it as X.

Now, draw another arc on the line l from the point X in the opposite direction of P and mark it as Q.

Step 3: Compute the length of the line segment PQ.

Length of the line segment PQ:

2×3.9=7.8

Use the ruler to measure the length of PQ. which comes out 7.8cm that is twice the length of AB.

Hence, the length of the line segment PQ is twice the length of AB.
