Solution

The correct option is A A - Artery, B - Capillary, C - Vein
Arteries are the structures that carry oxygenated blood from the heart to all the body parts. Exception to this case is the pulmonary artery, which carries deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the lungs. Veins are the structures that carry deoxygenated blood from the body tissues to the heart. Exception to this is the pulmonary vein which carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart. There are three layers which are present in the arteries and the veins. They are (from the inside out)- the tunica intima, which is the innermost lining that is made up of squamous endothelium, the tunica media, which is the middle layer that is made of smooth muscles and elastic fibres and the tunica externa, which consists of the fibrous connective tissue with collagen fibres. The middle layer (tunica media) is found to be thin in the veins when compared to the arteries. Arteries, on reaching the body tissues, divide into arterioles and capillaries. Capillaries are the thin-walled blood vessels that help in the exchange of materials at the cells of the body tissues. They have a very small diameter and a thin wall which help in the easy exchange of materials.
