Solution

Reflex Pathway:

  1. Receptors are structures at the terminals of nerve fibers that detect and convert environmental changes (stimuli) into electrical impulses. Specialized sense organs such as the ear, eye, and skin could be the receptors.
  2. Electrical signals (impulses) from receptors or sense organs are carried to the CNS by sensory neurons (Central Nervous System). Afferent neurons are another name for them. The central nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord.
  3. Motor neurons transport CNS impulses to effector organs. Efferent neurons are another name for them.
  4. Effectors are muscles or glands that respond to the stimulation provided by motor neurons.
  5. Hence, the correct order is: Receptor⇢ Sensory neuron⇢ Spinal cord⇢ Motor neuron⇢ Effector
