Vas deferens are long ducts that transfer the sperms from the epididymis to the ejaculatory ducts. It goes over the urinary bladder and extends down towards the prostate gland. The seminal vesicles (paired), prostate, and bulbourethral glands (paired) are parts of the male accessory glands. These glands secrete the seminal plasma which is made up of fructose, calcium, citric acid and some enzymes.
The seminal vesicles are two sac-like structures that lie near the base of the bladder. They connect with the vas deferens to form the ejaculatory ducts. Surrounding the urethra lies the prostate gland, which produces a milky secretion with a pH of 6.5 containing citric acid and some enzymes. The pea-sized bulbourethral glands are made up of single ducts that join the urethra at the entrance of the prostate. These glands secrete alkaline fluid and mucus.
