Given below is a passage that consists of six sentences. The first and sixth sentence are given in the beginning. The middle four sentences have been jumbled up. These are labelled as P Q, R and S.
Choose the logical sequence of these sentences:
S1 : Calcutta, unlike other cities, kept its trams.
P :

Q:
It was going to be the first in South Asia
R: They run down the center of the road
S:
So, to solve the problem, the city decided to build an underground railway line.
S6: The foundation stone was laid in 1972.

The correct option is D RPSQ
R follows the first sentence as the words "they run down" refer to the trams mentioned in S1.
P follows R as the words "as a result..." refer to the result of "they run down the center of the road".
S follows P because the words "so, to solve the problem" refers to the problem of "horrendous congestion" mentioned in P.
Q follows S as the words "it was going to be the first..." refer to the "railway line" mentioned in S.
The words in Q are then followed by S6, "the foundation stone" refers to that of the railway line.
So, the logical sequence is: RPSQ. Hence option D is correct.
Options A, B and C are incorrect as the order does not form a logical sequence.
