Parts of flower:
Stamen: Stamen is a male reproductive part of a plant. There are two parts in each stamen - anther and filament. It produces pollen grains.
Anther: The anthers produce spherical tiny structures called the pollen grains where the male sex gametes are produced.
Filament: Filament is the elongated stalk that attaches the entire stamen to the base of the flower.
Ovary: It is the enlarged portion of the carpal. It is the female reproductive part which carries the female sex cell. Ovaries develop into fruits after fertilization.
Ovule: The ovary contains many ovules where the female sex gamete is present. Ovules develop into a seed after fertilization.
Egg cell: Egg cells are developed in the ovules present in the ovary.
Petal: Petals are whorls which are in the inner part of the sepals. They are brightly coloured and help in pollination. It also provide protection to the reproductive parts of the flower.
Sepal: Sepal is the outermost whorl. It is green in colour and provides protection to the inner layers.
Carpel: Carpel is the flask shaped female reproductive part . It produces female gametes. Each carpel has a basal swollen part known as the ovary.
