Ureters:-

1. These are narrow, hollow, approximately 25-30 cm long, smooth muscular tubes which carry urine to urinary bladder from the kidneys.
2. There are two ureters, one arising from each kidney.
3. These are involved in the process of micturition, the act of voiding the urine.

Function:-

1. The urine is carried by peristaltic waves down the ureter.
2. This urine is temporarily stored in the urinary bladder and ultimately thrown out of the body through urinary opening by the process of micturition.
