Given Vbr=4m/s =magnitude of velocity of boatman with respect to river, Vr=2m/s in the direction perpendicular to velocity of boatman. Boatman wants to reach from point A to point B. At what angle θ should he row his boat? Assume that B is nearest point to A on the far bank.

For the boat to reach the point B, the boatman rows his boat in a direction making an angle θ.
Vbrcosθ=Vr
OR 4cosθ=2 cosθ=0.5
Thus θ=60o
