Solution

The effects of air pollution on human health can be summarized as follows:
1. Air pollution is the source of many respiratory diseases caused by the inhalation of toxic gases and compounds like the Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen compounds etc. The respiratory conditions caused by air pollution include coughing, wheezing, asthma, respiratory inflammation and difficulty in breathing.
2. Air pollutants mostly contain cancer-causing agents i.e. carcinogens, which can potentially cause cancer.
3. Also, air pollution is capable of adversely affecting various systems of humans, like the immune system, endocrine (hormonal) system, the cardiovascular system and the reproductive system.
4. AIr pollution which includes the burning of fossil fuels and the release of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere contribute to global warming, which is a threat to the existence humans and animals on the earth.
5. The toxic chemicals released into the air, after settling on the ground on plants and into water surface, in turn pollute the same, thus leading to contamination, eg.-contamination of a lake.Such contaminants (poisons) enter the food chain, thus affecting each and every living organism including the humans.
