The correct option is D 6 cm2

Median divides a triangle into 2 triangles of equal area.

In ABC, AD is the median.So,
Area of ABD = Area of ADC
Area of ABD = 12×Area of ABC...(i)

Again consider ABD. Here, BE is the median .
So, Area of BED = Area of ABE...(ii)

As, Area of ABD
=Area of BED + Area of ABE
=2 x Area of BED ...from(ii)
Area of BED = 12×Area of ABD
= 12×12 Area of ABC
= 14 (Area of ABC)
= 14×12 (6 × 8) = 6 cm2
