Solution

The correct option is B x=107,y=47
We have 2¯u¯v=¯w
Where
¯u=x¯a+2y¯b,
¯v=2y¯a+3x¯b,
¯w=4¯a2¯b
So, ¯a(2x+2y)+¯b(4y3x)=4¯a2¯b

Comparing the coefficients since ¯a and ¯b are non collinear, we get
2x+2y=4 and 3x4y=2

Multiplying the first equation by 2 and adding, we get
7x=10
x=107,y=47
