Nitrile rubber, also known as NBR, Buna-N, is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and 1,4-butadiene.

Properties:

1. Possesses a high tensile strength ( $\ge 10N/m{m}^2$).

2.Good resistance to mineral oils, vegetable oils, benzene/petrol, ordinary diluted acids and alkalines.

Uses:

1. In the manufacturing of disposable non-latex gloves, automotive transmission belts, gaskets, synthetic leather etc.

2.It can also be used in the preparation of adhesives and as a pigment binder.
