Area under the PV graph gives the work done by the gas during that process.
From figure, PM=1×105 Pa QL=7×105 Pa PQ=5×103 m3
Work done by gas during LM, WLM= Area of trap(LMPQ)
WLM=12×[PM+QL]×PQ=12×[(1+7)×105]×5×103=+2000 J
Change in internal energy ΔULM=1000 J
Using QLM=ΔULM+WLM
QLM=1000+2000=3000 J
