Open in App
Solution

Instructions:
  • Explain the features with examples from India and Brazil.
Solution:
  • The population is unevenly distributed in India and Brazil as physiography and climate play an important role.
  • Dense population is found in areas with flat and fertile land, availability of water and other natural resources. These conditions also help in agriculture, industries and trade.
    • In India, the northern plains and in Brazil, the eastern coastal plains have large human settlements due to this reason.
  • On the contrary, in mountainous hilly regions, and dense forests, density is sparse because of inaccessibility, absence of facilities, and tough life.
    • This is seen in the Thar desert and high-altitude Himalayan regions in India and in the Amazon basin in Brazil.
