Glycogen, starch and cellulose are all polymers of glucose. The glycogen is most common storage polymer in animals and starch is the most common storage form in plants. They have similarity in their structure (both in terms of constituent monomer and linkage), because they have to perform same function i.e., storage. However cellulose is different. Its function is structural support. The glucose units in cellulose are linked differently in cellulose as compared to glycogen and starch.
