Gonadotropin-releasing hormones (GnRH) are hormones secreted by the hypothalamus. They act on the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland and regulate the secretion of gonadotropic hormones (LH and FSH).

Gonadotropic hormones

The gonadotropic hormones regulate the secretion of hormones from the gonads, which means the ovary in females and the testis in males.
The gonadotropins are as follows:
ā— Luteinizing hormone (LH) - It is responsible for ovulation and the release of progesterone and estrogen in females. In males, it stimulates the testes to secrete testosterone.
ā— Follicle-stimulating hormone - It helps in the maturation of follicles in the females, thus stimulating the release of estrogen and progesterone. In males, it helps the formation of sperm.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus. During parturition, oxytocin (birth hormone) is secreted by the posterior pituitary gland. It acts on the uterine muscles and causes stronger uterine contractions.

Relaxin
Relaxin is secreted by the corpus luteum in the ovary and the placenta. It relaxes the pelvic ligaments and widens the cervix for helping in childbirth
