• Left atrium and left ventricle recieves the oxygenated blood and circulates it to all parts of the body through blood vessels.
• Similarly, right atrium and right ventricle receives the deoxygenated blood which is sent to the lungs for oxygenation.
• To ensure a unidirectional flow of blood from atrium to ventricles and then the blood vessels, valves are present in the heart. They prevent the backflow of blood.
