My query is that a hiker is desending 152m every 8min what will be hikers change in elevation in half an hour.

Solving this problem is just pretty straight forward.
Rate depreciation = 152 /8 = 19 metres per min.
therefore, change in elevation half an hour (30 min ) = 19 × 30 = 570m
Therefore the change in elevation after half an hour is 570 meters.
