Solution

The role of refrigerator is to keep the temperature down of the food materials which are kept inside it. The lower temperature does not promote growth of bacteria. When the refrigerator is not working, butter can be wrapped in a wet cloth during summer.

It is so because; the water in the cloth will take energy from the surroundings and evaporate. To regain the energy, the surroundings gain energy from the butter and thus make it cool. Thus in this way, butter can be kept in summers even when refrigerator is not working.
