Dark reaction:
Photosynthesis is the process by which leaves synthesize their own complex food with the help of chlorophyll (photosynthetic green pigment on leaves) in the presence of sunlight using carbon dioxide and water.
Photosynthesis is divided into two phases: light and dark reaction.
Dark reaction:
Dark reaction takes place in the stroma part of the chloroplast because all the enzymes are present inside the stroma.
In this reaction, atmospheric carbon dioxide is converted into glucose by the RuBisCO enzyme in the Calvin-Benson cycle.
Since, the enzyme does not require any light, this process is known as dark reaction.
