Solution

Punjab is known as the ‘Granary of India’. Punjab is most fertile place of India because of five tributaries flowing through this region. Thus, it supports growth of wheat. Apart from this rice, sugar cane, fruits and vegetables are also grown in Punjab. Being the largest contributor of main cereals to the country, Punjab has earned the title of 'Granary of India' or 'Food Basket of India'. Punjab produces roughly 12% of the total cereals produced in India.
