Solution

The correct option is B

Crop rotation

Growing different crops in the same field in a pre-planned succession is crop rotation. For example, after having two seasons of paddy, one season of leguminous plants are grown in the same field. This is crop rotation. This is done because by growing only one crop, one set of nutrients will be highly utilized and the other set of nutrients will remain unutilized. Also, by growing the same, again and again, again may deplete a particular nutrient. Crop rotation has advantages like the restoration of the depleted nutrients, reduction in soil erosion, improvement in the soil quality, increased yield and more profits.
