Open in App
Solution

Gunpowder, is a mixture of sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate (saltpeter). The sulfur and charcoal act as fuels, and the saltpeter is an oxidizer.
S+Charcoal+KNO3 = Gunpowder Composition.
Gun Powder explodes in vacuum (absence of air) because saltpeter KNO3 is an oxidizer and it does not require oxygen from atmosphere to burn.
