Question

Had the atmosphere not been present, what would be the appearance of sky? [2 MARKS]

Solution

Each point: 1 Mark

1. If there would have been no atmosphere, there would be no particle or dust to scatter the white sun light. We, from earth, would be either looking at sun directly or into the black endless universe.
2. Without the blue colour from the spectrum of sunlight being scattered all around in the sky, the sky would not appear blue anymore. Instead the sky will appear dark in colour.
