Solution

The correct option is A The hot dilute soup or the primitive broth
Haldane supported the chemical evolution of life. Chemical evolution of life stated that life originated from simple chemicals like carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. The primitive environment of the earth was the induction factor for chemical origin of life. Free oxygen was absent in the primitive atmosphere. The free atoms combined to form simple molecules like methane, ammonia, nitrogen and water vapour. The simple inorganic molecules of the oceanic water interacted with one another to form simple organic molecules such as sugar, fatty acids, glycerol, amino acids, purines and pyrimidines. Torrential rains brought the dissolved minerals. The induction force like U.V radiation acted on the molecules and lead to the polymerization of simpler organic molecules to form the complex molecules which later on generates the life. Haldane described the sea containing molecules of these organic substances in abundance as ‘the hot dilute soup’ or ‘primitive broth’. So, the correct answer is option A.
