T=5 min. and 10 sec=310 sec

If 90 of the sample disintegrates, it means that 10 has remained undecayed.
Now, N=N02n

N010=N02n

2n=10

taking log of both sides,

nlog2=log10

n=10.301

Now, t=nT=10.301×310=1029
t1000 sec.

Hence, (C) is the correct answer.
