So, length = x+4
Now, half perimeter= l+b=36
$\Rightarrow$ x+(x+4)=36
$\Rightarrow$ 2x+4=36
$\Rightarrow$ 2x=36-4
$\Rightarrow$ 2x=32
$\therefore$ x=16
Hence, the length of the garden is 20 m and width is 16 m.
