Question

Harpreet tosses two different coins simultaneously (say, one is of Rs. 1 and other of Rs. 2). What is the probability that he gets at least one head?

Open in App
Solution

When two coins are tossed together, the total number of outcomes =4
i.e., (HH,HT,TH,TT)

Let H be the event of getting at least one head
Therefore, no. of favorable events, n(H)=3(i.e.,HT,HH,TH,)

We know that, P(H) =(No.of favorable outcomes)(Total no.of possible outcomes)=34

Therefore, the probability that he gets at least one head is 34
