HCL does not turn blue litmus red but aqueous solution of HCL is able to do so . why

Dear ​Kashish Sengar,

Acidity of acid is due to the concentration of H+ ion. In concentrated sample or gaseous sample H+ ion does not released out but in dilute solution of in presence of water H+ ion can be easily removed from acid.

Hence aq. solution of HCl turn blue litmus red but only HCl can not turn blue litmus red.
