Thus, electronandBond

But He+ ion exists, as it has a configuration of σ1s2bonding σ1s1Antibonding

Bond order =NBNA2=212

As bond order is positive He+ exists. Due to one unpaired electron He+2 is paramagnetic.
The statement is true.
