Sepia is also called as cuttlefish. It has 10 arms. During breeding season the left fifth arm in male Sepia modifies as a copulatory organ and is called as hectocotylus or hectocotylized arm. This change is called as hectocotylization. It helps in copulation. It is specialized to store and transfer spermatophores to the female. The male Sepia keeps the spermatophores in a pocket near the mouth of female. From here, the sperm enters the tubes that carry eggs.
