Solution

Female reproductive system:

  1. Vagina - The vagina is an elastic, muscular canal that has a flexible lining. It connects the uterus. The penis interacts with the vagina during sexual intercourse.
  2. Cervix - The cervix is the lower part of the uterus and is present on top of the vagina. It allows the sperm to pass into the uterus via the endocervical canal and produces mucus that facilitates the entry of sperm.
  3. Endometrium - The endometrium is the inner epithelial mucous layer that lines the uterus. The endometrial layer is responsible for preparing the uterus for implantation, maintenance of pregnancy if the embryo implants, and conducting menstruation in the absence of pregnancy.
  4. Ovary - The ovary is a small, oval-shaped gland that is present on either side of the uterus. It produces and stores the ovum. It is also responsible for the production of estrogen and progesterone.
  5. Fimbriae - Fimbriae are small, fingerlike projections present at the end of fallopian tubes. It helps in the movement of the ovum and allows it to reach the ovary.
  6. Fallopian tubes - Fallopian tubes are oviducts that connect the ovaries to the uterus. It acts as a channel for the transport of oocytes and conducting fertilization.
  7. Uterus - The uterus is an inverted, pear-shaped hollow muscular organ. It stretches to accommodate the growing fetus and helps in pushing the baby during the childbirth process.
